Java Back-end Developer at the European Commission
There are two urgent open positions for Java Back-end Developers to join a project at the European Commission.
The challenge
As a Java Back-end Application Developer your tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Development and maintenance of software applications;
- Development and integration of technological components;
- Implementation of user requirements;
- Prototyping;
- Elaborating of test programs;
- Integration with other applications;
- Writing of technical documentation;
- Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system;
- Participating in meetings with the project teams;
Skills required
o Java EE 7;
o Java tools and frameworks: Spring data 1.13.x, Spring 4.x, Spring Security 4.x, Hibernate 5.x,IntelliJ or Eclipse;
o Web services (SOAP, REST);
o Oracle RDBMS 12.x;
o Junit 4.x;
o XML, XSLT, XPath, etc.;
Expertise in the following domains would be an asset:
o Analysis of requirements, drafting of analysis deliverables, UML modelling, and prototyping;
o Service Oriented Architecture (SOA);
o Java Message Service (Queues and Topics);
o Continuous integration and build environment: Jenkins, Hudson, Maven, Bamboo, Fisheye, Crucible, SourceTree, Git or SVN, JUnit or similar
Salary and Conditions
Location: Brussels, BE
Salary up to: 390€/day
Worksite type: On-site only
Contract type: Freelancer or Employee

Other points of the offer
The salary/daily rates presented are the maximum as a freelancer when meeting all criteria.
Belgium permanent employment contract is also one option, with salaries around 2500-3000€ net, when meeting all criteria.
