Business Process Engineer
In accordance with the CSSC Agreement, the Customer and THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDER Optimus wish to conclude this Statement of Work for Services, under the provisions of the Agreement and the Services Supply Agreement. This Statement of Work shall commence on 18 August 2025 and automatically terminate on 17 November 2025 unless otherwise stated by MTN.
MTN reserves the right to terminate services with prior notice to the THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDER whenever necessary.
About this position
The Business Process Optimisation (BPO) team, under the Enterprise Programme Management Office (EPMO), is currently driving strategic optimisation initiatives across MTN SA to improve process efficiency, standardisation, and automation readiness. To support this mandate, a skilled Process Engineer is required on a short-term contract to assist with high-priority process reengineering activities and optimisation projects across the enterprise.
The successful candidate will work with various business units to map, analyse, and document processes, define process KPIs and governance controls, and assess automation feasibility. This is in line with MTN’s ongoing drive to embed operational excellence and enable process digitisation.
Skills required
The role requires a qualified resource trained in Lean Six Sigma (minimum Green Belt advantageous) and experienced in applying structured process improvement methodologies.
Resource Type and Experience:
- Minimum 3-year degree/diploma in Industrial Engineering
- Minimum 5 years solid process re-engineering experience
- Proficient in using process modelling tools such as Microsoft Visio, ARIS, or equivalent
- Strong skills in business process analysis, process modelling, and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Project management skills (advantageous)
- Telco experience and knowledge of mobile financial services (preferred)
- Digital services/product experience
- Knowledge of DMAIC approach for delivering process optimisation projects
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements
- Identifying process variances and waste in current processes
- Business process analysis and business process mapping for different business functions
- Facilitating the negotiation of requirements amongst multiple key stakeholders
